The Path to 40

It has been far too long since my last blog post. I have found when something you enjoy becomes more of a chore, it is time to step back from it for awhile. Since I last sat down to write, a few monumental events have occurred. Nolan lost two more teeth (including the front tooth that makes pronouncing any "th" sound quite challenging), Cole won two baseball tournament championships, and I turned 40. Whew.

I had the intention of writing something heartfelt on my birthday about all the people who reached out to send me well wishes and some of the most beautiful, heartfelt, spiritually infused gifts I received that made me feel beyond appreciated. A group of girlfriends held a special yoga class for me and Brian was very creative in presenting forty of some of my favorite things each day of the week leading up to my birthday. I always thought 40 sounded old. However, with exception of more noticeably pronounced gray hairs, a few more wrinkles and a knee that cracks every now and then when I climb stairs, most days I feel fairly young. I would rather be who I am at 40, than naively entering my 20's again. There is a wisdom that only time can grant you, and I am blessed for the path that has brought me this far and for those people who have traveled with me.

Love & Light,

Here are a few photos of what we have been up to the past few months.

The boy does this for HOURS.

My gorgeous sis and her handsome hubby. I love them!

Easter with the cousins, there is nothing better.

My sister's rescue dog, Blu.

An Easter tradition.

Nolan's first year in machine pitch.

Cole's Greco Roman Day. Cole is Mr. Social. Not sure where he gets this from. Neither Brian or I are as outgoing as he is.

I love this picture. Cole won a discus throw and I captured his excitement! I love his teacher and friends.

Just a few random cool photos.

We manage to squeeze in a few playdates with buddies between baseball games.

This boy has such a love for the game.
