We had one day of snow yesterday. Despite my inclination to make Nolan wait until after school to get suited up to play, he stood with his head pressed to the windowpane and whispered how long he has been waiting for the snow. How could I say no? We dug out snowsuits and boots, mittens and hats. We were late for preschool with bright red cheeks and damp pant legs but his smile was huge. When I picked him up 3 hours later, the snow had melted. It was one of those moments I was glad I made the choice just to be in the moment, to say yes.  It was like the scene in the Wizard of Oz when the snow wakes Dorothy from the sleeping spell in the poppy field. Maybe first snowfalls have that magical ability to awaken the child in all of us.

Love & Light,
