The Spin Cycle

I am not sure where the last few weeks have gone. It seems a lifetime has passed somewhere between school starting and yesterday when I witnessed a Christmas commercial make its premature television debut. I have done six photo shoots in the last two weeks, hosted Cole's birthday party with 16 boys, trick or treated, attended baseball and flag football games, mixed with random appointments and school events. I feel like my little girl self in my side yard spinning as fast as I can with my arms open wide and my eyes on the clouds until I collapse and watch the world spin wildly around me. I am attempting to stand and find my balance, although sometimes giving yourself permission to lie still may be more of the challenge.

I love getting back into photography. I feel like the brainy kid in the scene from the Breakfast Club, after he writes a really good paper to the principal at the end of the movie and he gives himself a congratulatory punch in the arm.

(Oh I have to watch that movie again!)

I feel happy when I walk away from photographing a family. I love that I am allowed to step inside their world for a small time and I enjoy the challenge in capturing their essence through my lens.

As my camera rests and recharges on my desk, she is delighted that we are speaking again. I am content to have dusted off my creative self and put her to work. Sometimes spinning rapidly around creates it's own sense of clarity.

Love & Light,

Oh yes Martha Stewart, I made these!

Tasha's second annual Halloween party. She was awesome!

Cole's party with 16 boys and Brian as all time QB. I am not sure who had more fun, Brian or the boys.

Happy 8th Birthday Cole. I love you so very much.
