Winds a Blowin...

There is a hurricane headed our way. I do not watch the evening news so the only way I knew it was coming was the mass panic of people in the grocery stores, the closing of every county school in anticipation and the mass frenzy to purchase generators. Maybe it is because I was born and raised in Upstate New York and I have lived through snow and ice storms that would close the City of Richmond for weeks, but I do not fear storms. I love the dark sky, the way the leaves twist around in their own miniature tornado as Mother Nature twirls in her black cape. We cannot control her, so we surrender to her. The boys and I will bundle up in our blankets and watch the trees bow down to the winds. Sometimes it takes the threat of a storm to slow down, to let the chaos outside quiet the chaos within.

Love & Light,

The boys test the limequat that has been growing all summer on my deck!
