Sleep Walking

I fell asleep at 7:30 pm last night. I feel as though I could sleep an entire week and still not catch up on years of lost sleep. I wish I could bank sleep, collect a few extra hours here and there to use when I am so exhausted my sentences only make sense to those other mothers who are also sleep deprived. We just grunt a few words and nod at each other because we can interpret the meaning without finishing the thought. I am not sure if that is really impressive or just sad. I can tell you that when it is 7:00 pm and my two boys are running circles around the living room, I could curl up in a ball and slip soundly to sleep. I look forward to the day the boys sleep past 6:30 am and they think 11 am is too early to get out of bed. However, I know this also means I won't be able to sing them to sleep or read silly books and give bed time kisses.

My mom used to have this little quote hanging in our toy room when we were little. I remember it so vividly. I sometimes repeat it in my head to remind me to slow down and just be.

"Quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."

Love & Light,

Stacy

Cranium Hullabaloo. I definitely recommend this game to anyone with kids or tentatively a fun drinking game if you are single.
