The Magic of Making Friends...

Today we met our good friends on a school playground. Prior to meeting some of my best mom friends I would see them multiple times at museums or parks, playgrounds or libraries. I kept "coincidentally" running into Brenda at various places before we were even pregnant with our second sons and then one day we just started chatting. I believe that an unseen force brings certain people into our life for a reason. And if you don't establish a relationship right away, that person continues to resurface until the relationship that is supposed to happen, does.

Brenda just had her THIRD boy. Our boys connect as well as we do. I know I was supposed to meet her because she is honest and funny, someone I am comfortable just being me around.  I think we role model for our boys what a friendship entails; comfort in being ourselves, yet a willingness to be vulnerable to let others in our worlds.

Here are some of my favorite boy quotes for these five cute boys that tore up the playground today...

Love & Light,

A boy is Truth with dirt on it's face,
Beauty with a cut on its finger,
Wisdom with bubble gum in its hair,
and the Hope of the future with a frog in its pocket.

Between the innocence of babyhood and the dignity of manhood, we find a delightful creature of a boy.

Boyhood is a most complex and incomprehensible thing. Even when one has been through it, one does not understand what it was. A man can never quite understand a boy, even when he has been the boy.-- G. K. Chesterton
