Boys and Superheroes

Today Nolan tried to swing from the string of lights in Cole's room, like Spiderman. After he broke a few bulbs and I explained why he could not do that again, an hour later he was upstairs in my room trying to swing from my curtains. This followed yesterday's fiasco when Cole was trying to rope the ceiling fan so he could swing from it. Our lives are immersed in superheroes. Spiderman, Batman, Iron Man, and of course ALL the Star Wars guys.

You have to admit... It would be pretty cool to be a superhero, and I would be lying if I said that part of me does not yearn for Wonder Woman's golden lasso and invisible jet. Not to mention the cape and THOSE BOOTS! Just cool. So you can understand the allure of superheroes to children. And there are times I think swinging from the ceiling fan WOULD be fun, but the Mom in me is louder than the kid, so safety prevails...

"We can’t all be a superhero, someone has to sit on the curb and clap as I go by." -Little Boy Quotes

"Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero." ~Marc Brown

Here are some photos from today.

Love & Light,
