Snow Days...

Since I grew up in upstate New York, snow is something I am very accustomed to. However, the first real snowfall of the year always impresses me. It feels as though a blank of white silence falls upon all the outdoors.  Things just seem quieter. People and vehicles tend to stay parked, wildlife is not as vocal and the weight of a heavy snowfall covers any bit of color left on the ground and the trees. I love it when the boys and I run outside and make fresh tracks in a flawless sheet of snow. If I was not so afraid to take my camera out in the snowfall I would snap hundreds of photos of the boys being pulled in the sled down the middle of the road, or snowflakes on their eyelashes, or the shot of what it looks like to look up at the sky and see millions of snowflakes falling down on your face.

Yes, there is something about the first snowfall that brings a feeling of wanting to be a kid again. Here are a few of my favorite snowfall quotes.

"When it snows, you have two choices: shovel or make snow angels." -Anonymous

"To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold."-Anonymous

"Advice is like snow; the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper it sinks into, the mind.”- Samuel Coleridge

"Announced by all the trumpets of the sky, arrives the snow."-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Here are some fun snow photos from today.

Love & Light,

Creed dog had to join in the fun. A bit blurry but cute.
