Raindrops on roses...

Whiskers on kittens... If Julie Andrews does not start singing in your head you can stop reading this post. Obviously you are not a true Sound of Music fan. Or you are like my husband who rolls his eyes every time I twirl the boys around singing it to them replacing certain phrases with our own silly renditions. Seriously though, I love that movie. It makes me want to make hot cocoa & toast, curl up in my softest, warmest blanket by the fire and just be.  I introduced the movie to Cole last year, he was bored. I told my husband he tainted our first viewing experience with blaring Sunday Night Football from the other room. Cole left me for the Steelers...

So in honor of this song I have stuck in my head, I thought I would take a few photos of some of my favorite things... I know that "things" are not what makes us happy. True happiness holds no materialistic value, but sometimes "things" elicit feelings of comfort, of peace, of joy.  We already carry within us the capacity to experience these emotions, sometimes we just need a reminder that joy can be found in "snowflakes that stay on your nose and eyelashes" and "silver white winters that melt into Springs"...

So "these are a few of my favorite things"...

Love & Light,

Stacy

Yankee Candles...

Homemade Hats...

My necklaces. All from different people, representative of different times in my life...

And Smiley Face Pancakes.

Where do you find your joy?

  2. LOVE Sound of Music ~ Jasmine finally got interested this year but really only wants watch the parts with the music. Show Cole the puppet show scene song and then the so long farewell song - get him loving those two and eventually he'll want to see more! that's what got it for Jasmine, she remembered just those songs and than caused her to want to watch more. And it is a really long movie by today's standards! Ted rolls his eyes big time as well but it's their loss!!
