Bird's Eye View

When I was growing up my parents had a bird feeder in front of our kitchen window. My mom named the cardinals, the "Mr." and the "Mrs.". I, being a typical teenager thought this was of absolutely no interest and thought bird watching was for the elderly or those with no social life. My sister and I would roll our eyes at our parent's bird infatuation and know for certain no one else's parents were as lame...

Now I sit looking out my kitchen window at my feeder. I shout to the boys that the cardinals are back, or the blue jays are squawking or that the occasional blue bird has stopped by.  Nolan asks to be picked up to see and Cole tries to peer out the window so as not to scare them away.  Two things cross my mind. One...I have become my mom (or an elderly person with no social life).  Two...thank god I have a few more years left that the boys indulge my excitement before they too are rolling their eyes and texting their girlfriends about their crazy bird-watching mother.

Another life lesson, they just keep coming...

Love & Light,

The real reason we run out of bird food so fast!

The moon last night. (Without a tripod so a little shaky).

They drive me crazy!!
