A Monday at the Hotel...

This past summer we started volunteering Monday mornings at a retirement facility. Part of my motivation was selfish, I really missed my grandmother. She recently sold her home of over 50 years and moved to a retirement facility in Syracuse, NY. I know how much joy the boys bring her when we visit. They sweep through with this radiant energy that one cannot help but to absorb. They make her smile and laugh.  So since we cannot see my grandmother as often as I would like, we visit a retirement home where we can hopefully give that love to someone else's grandparent. Cole calls it "his friends at the hotel".

Visiting the hotel is bittersweet. When I ask the resident's advice on parenting or life lessons, they are usually the same. Enjoy the moment. It goes by so fast. I am grateful for the reminder.

Here are some photos from today.

Love & Light,

  1. I love the colorful photos Stacy but the idea pf visiting the retirement facility with the boys is so touching. I have been in the situation lately where older folks are rehabing and when the children arrive it brightens their day. My mother even could HEAR them speak which is pretty tough these days. Your grandmother would be extremely proud. OK, 365 photos is a challenge, Good Luck ! Love, Paula
